Kingston Artists Open Studios 2017

Hello, I am still alive. Apologies for the slow update but here are some photos from the Kingston Artists Open Studios event which was held over two weekends in June. The event showcased around 100 artists across 20 venues in Kingston area. I have exhibited my work with 8 other local artists in one of the artist’s lovely house. It was the first time for me to exhibit in a setting like this, different from craft fairs I usually do. This time, I put more focus on showing my storybook along with the character cards and some of my more elaborate clothing pieces since I expected new customers. I had a wonderful time meeting other artists and introducing myself to visitors. Hope you like how my work is displayed on a piano and a bookshelf.

Contemporary Textiles Fair 2017

I have been exhibiting at Contemporary Textiles Fair at Landmark Arts Centre last weekend, 17-19th March. Thank you very much to those who came by. It was lovely to meet new customers and exhibitors and saying hello to regular customers and fellow exhibitors from previous fairs I have done. Here are some photos from the event for you to remember or see how it was! I’m afraid I didn’t have much new work to show as taking part in the event was a last minute decision but I had some stock of scarves and collars back from Japan. I will let you know when I’m doing another event in the future. Hope to see you there.

The Makers’ Fair by Selvedge Magazine

I have exhibited at The Makers’ Fair by Selvedge Magazine last Saturday. It was held at St. Augustine’s Church Hall in Highgate, just near Selvedge shop. Although it was a small fair, it was lovely and pretty lit up with festoon lights. Thank you very much to those who came by my stand. It gives me motivation to create when I get good response from these fairs and I especially feel happy when I’m asked to sign my book! Here are some pictures from the fair if you’ve missed it. Hope to see you at another event.

Selvedge Artisan Christmas Fair

I have exhibited at Selvedge Artisan Christmas Fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall this Thursday and Friday. Thank you very much to those who are checking my blog now after visiting my stand at the fair. I have taken some photos so you can remember my work, or get a glimpse of what it was like if you couldn’t make it this time. I am happy my new paperback book (a printed version of the 2nd embroidered story book “minus the sun, night all day”) and the new Christmas cards I’ve designed this year have been popular. I will blog about them in the next few posts.

Selvedge Spring Fair in Stroud

Sorry for the delay but here are some photos from the fair on 16th. It was my first time to visit Stroud, a lovely town with small independent shops and restaurants. I didn’t have a chance to walk around but seemed like there was a creative buzz. People seemed relaxed and well-off. The fair opened at 9am, which was quite early in my opinion because I’m hardly awake usually, but there was a market outside and it was busier in the morning than in the afternoon. Interesting.

Selvedge Spring Fair 2015

I have exhibited at Selvedge Spring Fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall last Saturday. The fair was pretty busy and my stall enjoyed customers browsing through clothing, jewellery, and my embroidered story books. Thank you very much if you were there to see my work in person. Here are some photos for those who couldn’t make it. The next fair I’m doing will be Selvedge Fair in Stroud. I haven’t been there yet so I’m looking forward to visiting the area and showing my work to new customers.

Selvedge Spring Fair in Bath 2015

I had a day trip to Bath to exhibit at Selvedge Spring Fair last Saturday. My previous post was about a fair as well so it’s quite repetitive but I will show you some photos anyway. I forgot to take a table cloth and my business cards this time… which has never happened in the past. I was probably stressed out about having to travel and exhibiting outside of London. I used some of my calico dresses as a makeshift for a tablecloth and handwrote my details on cut up paper bags I use as packaging. I also wrote sentences from my story books on each to make them more interesting. I was glad that it worked and that some visitors found it amusing but I wish I had my ID-swipe-card-like business cards with me as they are usually very popular. The image on the back side is updated as I run out of the cards to show newer creations. The next chance to get them is at Selvedge Spring Fair in London. Hope to see you there!

Contemporary Textiles Fair 2015

I have exhibited at Contemporary Textiles Fair at Landmark Arts Centre last weekend. Thank you very much to those who visited my stand. It was my first time to do this fair and I was surprised to know that the venue was a rather big church with nice stained glass windows. There were around 70 exhibitors showcasing their textile goods and art works. I have brought back some clothing from Japan so my clothing rail was quite full. They are waiting for new owners…otherwise, they are all miiiine! I will be touring the UK to do three Selvedge Spring Fairs. The first one is in Bath this month. Check out the details here. The London one is next month and the Stroud one is in May. Looking forward to showing my work to new customers.

Selvedge Winter Fair 2014

I have exhibited at Selvedge Winter Fair last weekend. Thanks a lot to those who visited my stand. Here are some photos from the event. I missed the chance to shop around probably because I wanted to be present when a customer was at my stand and because I was quite sleepy. Next time!
