the Self-Conscious Girl’s dress final ver.

Here is the final version of the Self-Conscious Girl’s dress of “minus the sun, night all day” collection. Her style is quite girlie and louder compared to the other girls’ since she likes dressing up, looking good, and taking care of herself.  Same to the calico version, the neckline is a deep V neck, front and back.  The skirt is shorter at the front and longer at the back.  The hem is bound with the same red fabric used for the top panels to emphasise the hemline. The chest panels are embroidered with French knots using silk thread in dusk pink, light orange, and silver grey representing a cluster of stars.

I’ve made it with my leftover fabrics so there are 5 different fabrics used for this tie strap dress. The top panels are made with cotton sateen in dark red and lined with linen in dark orange. The tie shoulder straps are made with white cotton fabric with textured lines. The first row of the skirt is made with cream cotton fabric with silver lines and the second row of the skirt is made with plain white cotton.

the Dreamy Girl’s top and trousers final ver.

This is the final version of the Dreamy Girl’s look for “minus the sun, night all day” collection. The short sleeve top has a T-shirt silhouette but it is a little seductive with a hole at the chest. The loose fit 3/4 trousers are relaxed and cute with knitted cuffs. Many handicraft skills are used in this look, crochet, knitting, embroidery, and stitching.

the Dreamy Girl’s top and trousers calico ver.

This is the calico version of the Dreamy Girl’s look of “minus the sun, night all day” collection. I like to design sleepwear or loungewear for her because she likes to stay inside her dream. For this collection, it’s a set of a short sleeve top and a pair of 3/4 length trousers. The top has a crocheted hole at the chest and ribbons hanging around the neckline representing a dreamcatcher. The neckline, sleeves, and the hem are trimmed with cotton ribbon. The trousers have an elasticated waist with drawstring ribbons and cuffs which are going to be knitted in the final version.

the Amusing Girl’s top and skirt final ver.

These are the final versions of the Amusing Girl’s top and skirt for “minus the sun, night all day” collection. The 3/4 sleeve top is made of dark orange linen and wine red cotton sateen. The gathered mini skirt is made of navy corduroy and cream cotton fabric with silver lines. I imagine the colour of mars and silver shimmer of stars in this look.

the Solitary Girl’s dress final ver.

Here it is, finally. This is the dress for the Solitary Girl of “minus the sun, night all day” collection. The bodice, neckline, and cuffs are made with silk linen fabric in pastel emerald green. The sleeves and the triangle bit at the neck are made with cotton fabric in a similar colour. The crocheted hood and cuffs are made with cotton in off-white. The draw string at the hem is grosgrain ribbon in cream colour. Have a look at the calico version as well.

The crocheted hood is lacy with holes and has a scalloped edge.
Stars are like holes in the sky.

The hood is detachable, using buttons.

the Amusing Girl’s top and skirt calico ver.

This is the calico version of the Amusing Girl’s look of “minus the sun, night all day” collection. The boat neck top has a patterned yoke and 3/4 sleeves. The gathered mini skirt has covered buttons at the side opening and ribbon trimmings at the hem. I like her style to be fun and cheerful as she is a thoughtful girl who uses her energy to entertain the other girls.

The yoke section will have a star inspired embroidery pattern

the Solitary Girl’s dress calico ver.

I’ve been working on the dress for the Solitary Girl of “minus the sun, night all day” collection and here is the calico version I’ve done. It is a little sporty with sweatshirt details such as the triangle at the neckline, the pocket for both hands, and the drawstring at the hem. The final one will have a crocheted hood as well. The sleeves are made a bit longer because it will have crocheted cuffs with thumbholes in the final one. I wanted it to look comfortable and protective. I want my girl to feel safe.

It can be worn without gathers at the hem by adjusting the ribbon.
The pocket has a cut out detail in the shape of a little circle.

the neckline detail with a triangle bit and binding

cuff detail, I’ve used cotton ribbon here instead of the crocheted cuffs I will use in the final ver.

a pocket for both hands(is there a name for this?) with the cut out detail
It represents a lonely star in space.

the drawstring at the left side hem

This is the sample I did first but decided not to use this time. It looks good as it is but didn’t think it would work well with a crocheted hood. I might use the pattern for another design but not sure yet. Pleats at the neckline, elasticated waist, gathered cuffs with binding and covered buttons, and a drawstring hem.

the Sensuous Girl’s lingerie set

This look was for my masters project but I had only made the stockings at that time. I have recently made the bra and the knickers so here they are, the Sensuous Girl’s look for “You’re all mine. (You’re all in me.)” collection. The stockings are hand crocheted using silk yarn as well as the bra cups and the frills of the knickers. The fabric is cream cotton sateen. The straps of the bra are cotton grosgrain ribbons and have gold adjusters. The closure is by two covered buttons at the back.

the Smart Girl’s pleated skirt and full look

I have finished the pleated skirt as well as the blouse I had made before so here is the full look of the Smart Girl for “minus the sun, night all day” collection. Her style is school girl style.

The skirt is made with washed black cotton fabric and covered buttons in navy cotton drill.

The top of each pleat is embroidered with a star motif in lemon yellow.

The closure is at the left waist with one big and three smaller covered buttons in navy. The buttonholes are hand stitched in navy thread as well.

The hem is hand finished in a stitch which looks like a running stitch(it is actually a half back stitch to make it secure) in navy.
